Sam Bankman-Fried Says FTX’s Law Firm Pushed for Bankruptcy

FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried said in planned congressional testimony that the law firm representing the cryptocurrency exchange pressured him to seek chapter 11 bankruptcy protection for the company and picked its new chief executive, John J. Ray III.

In a transcript of the undelivered testimony, Mr. Bankman-Fried described a pressure campaign by FTX general counsel Ryne Miller and Sullivan & Cromwell lawyers to try to convince him to file for bankruptcy as the exchange was collapsing, including calling friends, family members and co-workers to get them to try to persuade him to file.
