The law firm is using its essay competition to raise awareness about the dangers of distracted driving and how it impacts the lives of all parties involved.
As part of its awareness campaign, New Mexico students will have a chance to compete for three scholarships offered by the firm.
Parnall Law Firm, in its announcement, stated that the application runs through June 1, 2022. Interested participants will be required to create a distracted driving family plan within which they will address the safety of their family by proactively committing to a plan that avoids all Occurrence(s) of distracted driving by the applicant and their family members.
The essay is expected to encompass the concept of distracted driving by formulating a plan that the applicant and their family will commit to with respect to addressing the problems on the roads.
Applicants submitting entries for the Distracted Driving Scholarship are expected to:
- Explain what distracted driving is.
- Discuss a time they have personally experienced distracted driving.
- Make suggestions regarding how they could encourage their loved ones to avoid distracted driving.
- Establish their take on whether smartphone technology is helpful or destructive (or both) for teen drivers.
- Describe how personal injury caused by distracted driving has affected them or their loved ones.
Give examples of any surveys, statistics, studies, or stories in the news that support the points raised in the submission.
The 2022 Distracted Driving Scholarship by Parnall Law Firm is open to high school students in New Mexico. Applicants are required to be US residents, and all entries must be submitted to HurtCallBert.com via the form on the page between the stated deadline (March 1, 2022 and June 1, 2022).
All entries received will be judged by the Parnall Law Firm and will be judged on originality and caliber of response. Judges’ decisions are final. The awards will be made directly to scholarship programs of winning students, with the first-place prize winner winning $2,500 while the second and third place prize winners will get $1,500 and $1,000, respectively. Parnall Law Firm will announce the award winners in mid-summer 2022.
