About the lawsuit

iRhythm and some of its executives are accused of failing to disclose material information during the classroom, in violation of federal securities laws.

On December 1, 2020, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced their final rule for the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (MPFS) for 2021, which sets out the payment policies and rates that Medicare will apply for the next year becomes. However, the rule has not finalized the reimbursement rates for several items relevant to the company, including codes for cardiac monitoring. In the news, iRhythm stock fell roughly 20%.

Then, on January 29, 2021, an analyst at Baird Research found that the prices published by Novitas Solutions, a Medicare management company, for Medicare management contractors “look much lower” than those published on the MPFS.
