United Franchise Group acquired business consulting firm Exit Factor in August to be part of its business consulting division.

Despite being under the United Franchise Group umbrella, Exit Factor is not a franchise—it helps business owners know their company’s value and prepare for selling. Founder Jessica Fialkovich has been a franchisee at Transworld Business Advisor, which is also owned by UFG, for a decade.

“I saw a lot of our business brokerage clients when they wanted to sell. They weren’t able to get the full value of their business that they deserved, or they weren’t able to sell at all because they hadn’t done some pretty simple things in preparation,” Fialkovich said. She wanted to help those clients build their company’s value, and Exit Factor was born.

She considers UFG CEO Ray Titus a mentor of hers, and the acquisition came about naturally.

“It actually just gives us a lot more opportunity,” Titus said. “Obviously, the UFG community has a lot of different resources that we wouldn’t be able to have as a stand-alone company or brand.”

Exit Factor has been working with Transworld, and plans to use its new resources to branch out to other brokers.

“We are working on adding additional resources and content to our programs for Exit Factor that UFG has been integral in helping us produce,” she said.
