Despite Client Familiarity, Some in Legal Tech See Life Beyond Leading Cloud Infrastructures

Which cloud infrastructure the software of a legal tech company sits on is initially a standard question that all law firms and legal departments of companies ask themselves. But for a customer base that has only recently started using the cloud, a provider using a little-known cloud provider could be a deal killer.

“I think if you have a piece of legal technology and want to bring it to the legal market and run it as software as a service in the cloud, you will likely get it on the leading cloud infrastructures. Because your clients, corporate law firms, and corporate legal departments are likely to have security or infrastructure preferences that mirror market norms, ”said Howard“ Bud ”Phillips, chief information officer of Elevate, an alternative legal services provider that provides technology and advisory services to law firms and corporate legal departments.
