$11 Billion Class-Action Lawsuit Filed Against Tom Brady, Multiple Sports Celebrities For Alleged Crypto Scam

A class-action lawsuit, seeking up to $11 billion in damages, has been filed against Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady and multiple other sports celebrities for an alleged scheme concerning cryptocurrency. Other sports figures named as defendants are Stephen Curry, Naomi Osaka, Shaquille O’Neal, David Ortiz, Shohei Ohtani, Trevor Lawrence and Udonis Haslem. Additional defendants are Kevin O’Leary, the Golden State Warriors organization, and Brady’s now ex-wife Gisele Bundchen.

The aforementioned names are being sued along with the crypto company FTX and its founder, Sam Bankman-Fried, for allegedly putting together a “fraudulent scheme” to promote and advertise FTX as a company to invest in. In the filed complaint, FTX is accused of being “designed to take advantage of unsophisticated investors from across the country, who utilize mobile apps to make their investments.”

Brady and Bundchen appeared in a FTX Crypto commercial together, before the pair ended up getting a divorce in October. The ad was an attempt to get people to use FTX for their cryptocurrency-related needs.

Bankman-Fried reportedly sent out multiple tweets on his Twitter account shortly after he resigned from being FTX CEO and the company officially filed for bankruptcy. The former founder started off by issuing an apology and taking accountability for the fall of the company. Bankman-Fried put blame on himself by saying he “f****d up” and that he isn’t a good developer.
