Governor Roy Cooper announced two court appointments, one for the North Carolina Supreme Court Justice and one for the North Carolina District Attorney.
“These officers have years of legal experience and knowledge that they will use in their public service,” said Governor Cooper. “I am grateful for your willingness to stand up for our state.”
Thomas Wilson will serve as the Supreme Court Justice in Judicial District 3B for Carteret, Craven and Pamlico counties. Greene Wilson & Crow, PA founder will fill the vacant seat of the Honorable Paul Quinn, who retired in January.
Wilson was an associate with Stubbs & Perdue, PA and a trainee lawyer with the Hon. J. Douglas McCullough. Wilson received his Bachelor of Arts from Miami University and his Juris Doctor from St. Louis University School of Law.
Tim R. Watson will serve as the District 23 attorney serving the Surry and Stokes Districts. He will fill the vacant seat of District Attorney Ricky Bowman, who will retire in late March. Watson is currently the district’s senior assistant district attorney.
He was previously a private attorney and earned his Associate in Arts from Surry Community College, his Bachelor of Arts from Winston-Salem State University and his Juris Doctor from North Carolina Central University School of Law.
