Women of Legal Tech: Emily Hostage and Why Legal Could Understand Tech If They Tried

There is a shortage of women in science, technology, engineering, and math. But there are many women with successful careers in the legal tech community. Legaltech News presents our newest “STEM Cell” profile. Alma Asay recently interviewed Emily Hostage, Senior Vice President and Head of Special Projects at Burford Capital.

This profile is a continuation of the Women of Legal Tech series originally published by editor Monica Bay, “To Inspire Girls, Women (and Men).” Many of the women we portray started their careers in the legal industry. From October to the end of December 2021, we’re introducing six women from the legal tech field who started with a STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) background and then switched to the legal industry.
