GREEN BAY, Wisconsin (WFRV) – As of 2018, Foster the Village has cared for more than 850 children and adolescents in the Brown County’s care system. The Greater Green Bay Community Foundation has awarded Foster the Village a $ 7,500 grant to further support families with much-needed resources such as clothing, shoes, car seats, diapers, toiletries, and more.
“The grant will help us identify the needs of the caring community and tailor our services to best serve them,” said Cheri Salmon, founder and president of the village. Salmon says she got the idea to open a facility in Green Bay after a work trip to Michigan. “I was in Michigan and saw a foster closet that had clothes for foster children,” Salmon said.
