At least one of the women who contacted Ms. MacDougall has also hired the law firm to act on her behalf in Sony’s investigation.
One who asked to remain nameless because of possible legal action said she was not comfortable dealing with Sony alone.
“Sony Music has failed us time and again, many of us feel unsafe to speak to the organization or our local lawyer,” she said.
“It’s comforting to know that there is finally someone who can defend our rights and help us cope with the complexity of this process.”
A Sony Music spokeswoman declined to comment.
