Ron DeSantis Nominates Two Judges for Ninth Judicial Circuit Court on Orange and Osceola Counties

On Monday, Governor Ron DeSantis announced two new judicial appointments for the Ninth judgment. The 9th Circuit Court includes orange and Osceola counties.

Gisela Laurent, of Winter Garden, to serve as judge on the 9th Circuit Court

Judge Laurent served on that Orange County Court since 2017. She was previously the sole practitioner with the Laurent law firm, PA Laurent is the first Hispanic female judge to be appointed to the ninth court by a governor. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and her law degree from the University of Florida College of Law. Laurent will be occupied by the resignation of Judge Patricia Doherty.

Joshua Mize, of Winter Park, to serve as judge on the 9th Circuit Court

Mize was the owner of Mize Law, PLLC since 2018. Previously, he was an associate at Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and his law degree from the University of Florida College of Law. Mize occupied by the resignation of Judge Gail Adams.
