Law firm additions, growth and recognition

Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP announced the addition of Wes Scott to its Nashville office. Mr. Scott works in the capital markets and securities industries and specializes in corporate governance and mergers and acquisitions.

“Wes’s securities experience and knowledge of the banking and financial services industries will make him a great asset to Nelson Mullins,” said Neil Grayson, director of the company’s financial institutions, corporate and regulatory group.

von Briesen & Roper sc has added four new lawyers to its Milwaukee office:

Susan Lee joined Goodwin’s Life Sciences Practice as a partner in her Washington, DC office. Ms. Lee advises biologics and technology companies on FDA regulatory and compliance matters and is named a Next Generation Partner for Life Sciences and Healthcare by Legal 500 US.

“Susan’s extensive experience in FDA regulatory strategy, commercialization, and corporate transaction issues will be invaluable to our customers at all stages of the product and business lifecycle. We are very excited to welcome Susan to Goodwin, ”said Mitch Bloom.

Ice Miller LLP n has opened a new Philadelphia office to house the intellectual property law firm that represents pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients on all aspects of patent law.

“We’re excited to expand not only our office space, but also the capabilities of our Philadelphia office. The move means the growth of our IP practice as well as the growth of the law firm. I can’t wait to see more IP practitioners and lawyers in other areas of expertise come to our office to better serve our customers in the greater Philadelphia area and elsewhere, ”said Weihong Hsing, Ph.D., Managing Partner of the Philadelphia Office.

Rosenburg Martin Greenberg LLP has announced Caroline L. Hecker as the new managing partner of the firm. She is the firm’s third managing partner and the first woman and non-founding member to assume this role. Ms. Heckler started in the firm in 2007 and became a partner in 2013. Ms. Hecker currently leads the firm’s land use and zoning team and associate marketing committee, which helps build business development awareness among her lawyers.

Bethany Biesenthal, a partner in Jones Day’s Chicago office, is now a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers (ACTL). Ms. Biesenthal has experience in commercial defense as well as litigation in commercial and compensation law. The fellowship in college is only possible by invitation to various experienced litigation attorneys whose careers are exemplary of the highest moral behavior, professionalism and courtesy, and attorneys must have at least 15 years of litigation experience.

“Bethany is a natural. She has been a great addition to our ranks since joining us from the US Attorney’s Office, and her introduction is a wonderful recognition of her overall excellence as a consultant and litigator,” said Tina Tabacchi, a partner by Jones Day.

Innovation in law

Blakes law firm is the first Canadian law firm to partner with the Mindful Business Charter (MBC) to reduce unnecessary stressors in the workplace and encourage effective teamwork through openness, respect, improved communication, considerate delegation of duties and respect for working hours .

Lawmatics announced its new customer portal that allows users to share documents, signature requests, calendar events and other contact-based tasks. Some of the portal’s new features include automatic tagging, electronic signature expiration, and more.

Legal industry in the service of the common good

Faegre Drinker receives the Inaugural Law Firm Founders’ Award from the Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota (ILCM). The ILCM is a non-profit organization that provides free or low-cost legal advice to those in need of legal assistance with immigration and works to educate organizations about immigration and human rights.

Faegre Drinker’s attorneys are recognized by the ILCM for their volunteer efforts and assistance in creating the free program.

Stark’s Evan J. Lide and Stark recently accepted a position on the board of directors of Lambertville Helping Hands, Hurricane Ida Disaster Relief. Mr. Lide has experience in the areas of accident and personal injury law.

“I’ve seen firsthand the devastation Hurricane Ida wreaked on my town of Lambertville, particularly my neighbors in the Village Apartments. More than half of the city’s residents have suffered flood damage, and the recovery is far from complete. Lambertville Helping Hands has helped lead the volunteer work in the city and I am delighted that I have been asked to join the board of directors to ensure these funds reach the people who need them most, “said Mr. Lide

Frost Brown Todd (FBT) awarded their annual Diversity and Inclusion Scholarships to five students who demonstrated their academic excellence and commitment to diversity and inclusion efforts. The FBT Diversity and Inclusion Scholarships award five scholarships totaling $ 2,000 to build a diverse legal pipeline and support underrepresented students.

The five selected students are:

“We are excited to offer this FBT scholarship to students who are currently studying law or who would like to attend law school in the future. We have awarded this scholarship for the past 11 years. We were inspired by the commitment of the fellows to create a diverse, equitable and inclusive community. We look forward to seeing their successes in the future and are proud that FBT has been able to support this journey, ”said Justin Fowles, Chairman of the Committee.
