Newsom Taps Big Law for 17 Judicial Appointments

gov. Gavin Newsom on Monday appointed 17 new trial court judges, including Perkins Coie partner Patrick S. Thompson, who will serve on the San Francisco bench.

Thompson, an antitrust litigator, has worked at Perkins Coie since 2015, where he defended large corporations including Google and Bumble Bee Seafoods. Thompson joined Perkins Coie after working at Goodwin Procter for 10 years. Prior to that, the Harvard Law School graduate was an associate and partner at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman between 1992 and 2005.
